Install Space-O Loom

Space-O Loom is self-hosted, so the recorder isn't on the Chrome Web Store — you load it directly into Chrome. It takes about a minute.

    Download & unzip

    Download the extension and unzip it to a folder you'll keep (Chrome loads it from this folder, so don't delete it afterwards).

    Open Chrome extensions

    Go to chrome://extensions and turn on Developer mode (top-right toggle).

    Load unpacked

    Click Load unpacked and select the unzipped space-o-loom-extension folder. The Space-O Loom card appears — pin it for quick access.

    Sign in

    Open the side panel and sign inwith the account your admin created — no server URL or API key to enter, it's built in. Record → it uploads automatically and the share link opens in a new tab.

Use Google Chrome. Screen recording runs from an offscreen document that other Chromium browsers may not support. On macOS, grant Chrome Screen Recordingpermission in System Settings → Privacy & Security the first time.

Updating is easy. The extension tells you when a new version is out. To update: download the new zip, unzip it over the same space-o-loom-extension folder (replace when prompted), then click the ↻ reload icon on its card in chrome://extensions. No need to remove and re-add it.
